Universal Processing Array
There has been no real innovation in the out-of-order processing pipeline since IBM engineer Robert Tomasulo’s groundbreaking work in 1967.
What if – we could eliminate unproductive housekeeping and maximize instruction execution? What if – we could eliminate hardware overhead for simultaneous multi-threading? What if – we could instantaneously reconfigure an array for data-flow processing?
Ubitium aims to fundamentally transform the computing landscape by introducing a universal processor architecture that is completely workload-agnostic.
The universal processor architecture replaces conventional processors by reusing the same transistors for all workloads. This approach contrasts sharply with traditional microprocessors that rely on specialized cores, resulting in processors that are smaller, more energy-efficient, and significantly less costly to deploy across a wide range of applications.
We plan to expand our platform by developing a portfolio of chips that vary in array size but share the same architecture and software. This approach allows us to offer scalable solutions tailored to different performance needs, from embedded devices to large computing systems.
Lowering Adoption Hurdle
A major hurdle for the adoption of new processors is a proprietary Instruction Set Architectures that require proprietary software tools and the lack of a mature software ecosystem that provides necessary software frameworks and applications.
Ubitium is a strategic member of RISC-V International. Its processors are 100% RISC-V compatible and require no proprietary software toolchain.
Heterogeneous hardware (processors) require different tools and software stacks to program. Ubitium’s workload-agnostic universal processors, reduce hardware and software complexity which not only reduces cost but also accelerates development while increasing flexibility.
Autonomous Systems & Interaction
We envision a world in which all devices are autonomous and capable of natural interaction not only with people but also with other machines.
Advanced AI algorithms for object detection, text-to-text, text-to-speech, speech-to-text and generative AI in general are advancing so fast that specialized hardware is outdated almost immediately. Which makes deployments short-lived and costly.
Ubitium’s hyper-flexible and workload agnostic architecture changes the economies of compute. Allowing the deployment of real high-performance compute to applications that are under-served today.
Ubitium will transform the human-machine interface, bring true high-performance compute to the Edge and IoT and enable autonomous machines everywhere – consumer electronics, industrial automation, home automation, healthcare, automotive, space & defense and robotics.
