Peter is a veteran of the high-tech industry. He started his career in Europe with Texas Instruments and Signetics followed by executive management positions with Intel in Europe and the US, Siliconix, the TEMIC Group and Netro Corporation. Since 1998 Peter has been an investor and business angel and serves on the Boards of private and public companies in Europe and the US.

Hyun Shin spent years as a technology executive. His experience spans everything from automotive, industrial solutions, defense and building solutions. He spearheaded digital transformation, roll-out of cutting edge technology from strategy to execution and monetization – driving the development of digital product platforms and building one of the first industrial planet-scale IoT platforms.

Martin founded his first microprocessor company while still in university. He founded PACT XPP Technologies, a leader in the field of reconfigurable processors. PACT’s technology has been licensed to all major US semiconductor companies. Martin has more than 200 patents in his name.

Markus headed PACT XPP‘s compiler development before he decided to join academia. As well-known compiler specialist for reconfigurable processor architectures, he now leads Ubitium’s compiler design. He is a Professor for Hardware/Software Systems at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences, Germany.

Martin is a renowned specialist for parallelizing complex and irregular algorithms, in particular for efficient GPU execution. He has co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications. His research has been funded by Intel, NVIDIA, Microsoft, the NSF, and the DOE. Martin is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Texas State University.

In the 1990s, Martin Vorbach founded his first semiconductor company while still at University. Peter Weber joined him as Chairman of the board and later became CEO.

Over the years, Martin’s groundbreaking work in reconfigurable computing and Field-Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) led to a vast patent portfolio of over 200 patents, which is now licensed by major U.S. semiconductor firms.

Frustrated by the limitations of CGRAs and FPGAs — cost, complexity, and programming difficulty — Martin spent years reimagining processor design, eventually developing the Universal Processing Architecture underlying Ubitium.

Incorporation_

In the early 2000s, KIT freshman Hyun Shin Cho met Martin through his professor, beginning a lasting friendship.

Over the next two decades, Hyun Shin developed deep industry expertise at a German conglomerate, gaining insights into sectors like automotive, defense, and industrial technology.

In 2024, after 18 patents and a successful proof of concept, Martin, Peter and Hyun Shin joined forces to launch Ubitium.
